Paul started (like his cousins) working as a helper on the back of a garbage truck with his father back in the early 80’s. Paul always had a passion for working on the routes and viewed them as one big obstacle course that challenged you, mentally & physically. After completing his associates degree in 1996, Paul joined Mr. T Carting full-time and obtained his commercial driver’s license in 1997. Paul worked on collection routes including trash, recyclables, organics and demolition until 2003. From 2003-2006 Paul worked in the transfer station and material recovery facilities located in Brooklyn. Paul learned the recycling business including operating all of the equipment such as, wheel loaders, forklifts and heavy duty baling machines.
Paul found a passion for risk management and earned several certificates in safety. Over the last decade, Paul has implemented safety programs throughout the Operations and Recycling divisions, and regularly speaks at industry events on this topic. Paul is responsible for recruitment and acclimation of drivers and helpers, as well as CDL training for qualified employees.
Paul currently oversees the Fleet division involving safe fleet operations and maintenance for the trucks, containers and other equipment. He is also COO of Hi-Tech Resource Recovery & Scholes Street Recycling.
Paul also has an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Culinary Arts
