The program was designed to ensure that all employees who work in departments where boots are required wear the proper protective footwear for the type of work they are doing. The reason for doing this stems from a desire to ensure that our employees that must wear boots for work have boots that meet the safety specs required by the job tasks. The on-site boot fitting ensures that our employees stay safe and offers our company has the peace of mind that our valued employees are taken care of.
The boot program is straightforward: a mobile safety boot supply store comes to our site and properly measures each employee’s foot size. The employee is then matched with a properly fitting boot that has been pre-specified by our company’s safety department. The brands can vary, with many options, including Redwing, Irish Setter, & Workx. These brands have boots available that meet our company specs, including having a safety toe, waterproof, and slip-resistant soles, among others. Mr. T Carting also pays for the first $125.00 towards the employees’ work boots, and eligible employees may participate in the program as often as every six months.
Our first mobile fitting event went very well, with 63 employees benefiting. Having the on-site shoe store for fitting and purchase provides a convenient alternative to going to the store. Our program also ensures that our boot-wearing employees have top-quality safety footwear.
